Ben’s recent photographic practice is focused on what is revealed through being concealed and what is concealed when something is revealed. Ben’s roll as an artist is to create images that question the automatic transparency and legibility of the image and cut the viewer short from making the medium disappear in our connectedness to what is represented. He creates an awareness of the role of the image through highlighting the medium itself, its obscurity and referring to what is hidden.
